Another 3-Man Superteam Would Be Bad For NBA, And Bucks

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

I have nothing against Chris Paul, I like watching him play as one of the best point guards in the league, but I am really hoping against him getting his wish.  The leading rumor has Paul going to New York by forcing a trade there.  This was apparently something he, Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony had discussed.  This crap needs to stop.  For this sport, for all sports, it just needs to stop.
The NBA has done well for years with a simple winning formula, get a star, get him a decent running mate, fill in the pieces.  That worked for Michael [...]

Bucks “Quietly” Getting Some Love

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

It is nice to see the Milwaukee Bucks getting some attention and love across the Internet.  It is one thing for Bucks bloggers like myself, Brewhoop or Bucksketball to praise the Bucks and to be more than a little optimistic but we are seeing articles all over giving the Bucks some love.  It seems that most articles out there for one reason or another must mention any Bucks praise with the word “Quietly” which is fine with me, the Bucks will make their noise once the season starts.

The main NBA site has a nice article by Shaun Powell about the Bucks, [...]

Comparing The Bucks To Entourage, Who Is Our Sloan?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: None Yet

There are two things going on right now that help the summer dullness, Entourage is back on HBO Sunday nights and the Milwaukee Bucks have reshaped their roster this summer.  Sunday night has become a great night for tv, what else are you going to do with Monday right around the corner?  Having your team make moves in the off-season always generates excitement and the Bucks have been plenty busy.

My Bucks Off-Season Grades
The Bucks have had an exciting off-season.  As fans we love it when we know our team gives a crap.  The Bucks have shown they give a [...]

Bucks Still Dealing, Add Dooling, Maybe Brockman

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Free Agency, Trades | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Bucks have kept at it with more off-season moves and rumblings Monday by signing Keyon Dooling to a two year contract.  There are also rumblings that the Bucks will trade Darnell Jackson and a 2ndround pick to Sacramento for Jon Brockman.
Keyon Dooling
We knew a veteran point guard would be added and here it is.  It did not cost the Bucks any current rotation guys so I am happy about that.
Quote from GM John Hammond
“Keyon is a veteran and will complement Brandon Jennings,” general manager John Hammond told the Journal Sentinel. “He’s filled both roles as a point guard as [...]

NBA Futures: Bucks Decent Longshot

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, NBA Futures | COMMENTS: None Yet

After the Lebracle was over and Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh all joined forces in Miami I was curious how Vegas felt.  Vegas thinks they are the favorite, last I saw 3 to 2.  Now that Miami has already added Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller to the mix I do not have much of a beef as to them being the favorite.  When it was just Bosh, James and Wade I would have argued that the Lakers are still better due to the mismatches inside and the (now) easier path to get there through the Western Conference as [...]

Bucks Off-Season Report Card

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Free Agency, Trades | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Giving grades for a teams draft picks is always stupid right after a draft, but we all do it anyways.  The same could be said for free agent moves as we do not know how a guy will fit in or if that nagging injury he had on his previous team was much more serious than anyone let on.  In a lot of ways it just as much of a crap-shoot as the draft.  But it is the summer and it is really entertaining to look at this stuff, the Bucks did not sit back andfor that reason alone I [...]

Brandon Jennings: Rookie Year Compared To Chris Paul, What To Improve?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Brandon Jennings, Bucks | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

By most accounts Brandon Jennings had a great rookie year for the Milwaukee Bucks.  He came in as a longshot hope for most of us fans, he was too skinny, couldn’t shoot and was labeled numerous non-flattering things from ESPN(EspeciallySelfPromotingNetwork).
Note:  I stole that ESPN thing, but love it.  Could the show “The Decision” have been a better example of how ridiculous that network has become?
In the next few weeks or so I will compare Jennings to previous point guards and the amount they improved from their rookie to sophomore seasons in the NBA.  I will start with Chris Paul who [...]

Bucks Summer League Starts Tonight

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Milwaukee Bucks will start their summer league tonight, live on the NBA network at 7pm CST.  Last year everybody had to scramble to find the game streamed online, not this year as the majority of the summer league games will be on live.
The schedule and roster are on nba.com.
What To Look For
The obvious answer is for our first round pick Larry Sanders to look great.  Also for Darrington Hobson and Tiny Gallon to also look great but since none of our drafted rookies are true guards it could be tougher.  Guards dominate formats like the summer league, AAU and [...]

5 Reasons The Bucks Should Love Lebron Joining The Heat

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Popular | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Lebron James made it official last night, he will join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat.  The more and more I think about this situation I think it is great for the Milwaukee Bucks and here are some reason why.
1.  Central Division is Much Weaker
At one point in this free agent mess there was the possibility that Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Lebron James would have all been in the division with Wade in Chicago, Lebron in Cleveland and Bosh with one or the other.  Now Cleveland has been wiped out and Chicago did not get any [...]

Lebron’s Decision Thursday. Ridnour Gone? Maggette Passes Physical.

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Free Agency | COMMENTS: None Yet

We have some Milwaukee Bucks news this morning and some more Lebron non-news.
Lebron James
It is all over ESPN that Lebron’s decision should come Thursday.  If it does, THANK GOD!  This saga has been going on for several years, ever since the Knicks started adding crappy contracts that would expire for this free agent period.  If I remember correctly this all really started with Isiah in New York, the rumors have been flying around that long.
I would prefer Lebron to leave Cleveland for New York or New Jersey and for Dwayne Wade to stay in Miami.  What I do not want [...]
