Will Jennings Regroup at MSG?

Posted by: Justin Malaise

Brandon Jennings is coming off the worst game of his rookie year with the loss against the Magic.  Jennings scored only two points, and had his defense questioned by Scott Skiles.  What an opportunity for a big game tonight to rebound.

Players love putting on a show in New York at Madison Square Garden.  Last year Lebron and Kobe took turns lighting it up at MSG, when Jordan came back from baseball he officially arrived back with a 50+ game at MSG, now Jennings can get a chance for redemption.

Jennings has the normal incentive to play well at MSG that all stars, or potential stars, feel.  Jennings also wants to put his worst game as a rookie behind him.  Lastly, Jennings still feels snubbed by the Knicks when they took Jordan Hill instead of him during the draft.  It was a bad pick, but that is the Knicks.  Jennings has made comments referring that it did bother him that the Knicks passed on him.

My question is this, how big will Jennings response be?  Can he go for 50+ again?  I would say no to that.  Can he go for 40+, I also think that is doubtful.  I do think a 30+ performance is very possible.  For a point guard to score 40-50+ points they really need to dominate the ball AND be on fire.  Since Jennings does not get to the free throw line at the rate of a Lebron or Wade, putting up 40+ nights on a whim will always be difficult.

But I do expect him to rebound tonight, and there is a good chance it will be 30+ with a high assist number.
