There has been a ton going on in sports in the last few days. First, you have the weekly event that is the NFL weekend. Second, the BCS has made its choices after a wild college weekend. Third, the Tiger Woods saga has went from entertaining to disturbing. Last, the Bucks gave up a 29-0 run to the Cavs at home with Lebron on the bench.
NFL
A great weekend for the NFL. Going into the weekend the only games of interest were Cowboys-Giants, Vikings-Cardinals, Packers-Ravens, and some interest being zapped from the Falcon-Eagle game when Ryan was officially scratched. But what a weekend it became.
The Saints found a way, or the Redskins found it for them, but either way the Saints got a win.
Pittsburgh chokes against The Big Gradkowski (stole this, but love this moniker).
The Pats are giving games away late, another 4th quarter game they could have iced.
The Giants jumped back into the playoff race, while the Cowboys possibly started another December swoon.
The Cardinals have jumped into the serious contender category, while some doubts have to arise with the Vikings. The Vikings are still really good, but losing Henderson will be a major loss. Another concern would be the team is now a passing team with AP thrown in as a mix-up. If the Vikings do not get back to their identity of being a punishing running attack with Favre sprinkled in, they will be 1 and Done in the playoffs.
The Packers and Ravens had a ton of penalty yards but the Packers put themselves into the argument of a team to reckon with in the playoffs.
College Football
Alabama dominated. From the start of the game Saban decided he was going to do anything in his power to get this game to a multiple score game so Tebow could not make a few plays in the 4th quarter to steal the game. Florida did not have enough weapons to scare off the Alabama rush and that rush controlled Tebow.
It is a shame that Boise and TCU have to play each other. It would have been nice to see Georgia Tech-Boise and TCU against any other BCS team than Iowa. It is what it is.
Colt McCoy lost the Heisman more than Ingram won it, but either way, Ingram should win it. BTW, what the hell was McCoy thinking at the end? He is a four year starter? Didn’t show.
NSODKSLKS Suh from Nebraska will go in the first three picks of the draft or the teams that pick at the top should be checked for insane blood-alcohol levels. Looks like he could be a real force in the NFL.
How many players in that Alabama-Florida game will be not only in the NFL, but NFL starters in less than two years? There was a lot of talent on that field, among that major names: Ingram, Jones, The Bama OLine, Cody, McClain, Haden, Hernandez, Tebow, Spikes. I seriously think Haden, Cody, and McClain could play in the NFL in one month if allowed. This draft should be ridiculously rich in talent.
Bucks
I haven’t written much about the Bucks for a few days because I did not want to overreact. The 29-0 run by the Cavs was painful, thank god I saw very little of it since I was mostly watching the NFL RedZone channel. I kept changing the channel back to the Bucks game and actually thought there was something wrong with the FSN tv feed since they were not updating the Bucks score. Honestly, you just shake something like that off. Do not overreact, just get back to work and remember how you were winning games earlier in the season. I think we are getting to a point where the Bucks were not as good as their 8-3 start, and not as bad as this recent skid. Play tough tonight against Boston and survive until the schedule gets back in their favor.
