Thanksgiving
First off, everybody have a happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the football games, if you are at a place that you are not allowed to watch them, fake an illness and go home. There is no excuse whatsoever for people to not be allowed to watch football on Thanksgiving. If you are going someplace you know the game will be turned off, delay the trip until after the first game, get there early in the second game, then leave at the half. Be a pain. If the hosts that do not allow you to watch the games can be a pain in the ass, do the same. The thought of the games not being on is so foreign to me I cannot even fathom someone trying to keep the tv off. If it happened to me, I would politely say I am not staying, I work too hard and have too little free time to not be allowed to watch football on our holiday. This holiday does not belong to people who do not want the games on. If someone objects to the games, than they do not have to watch.
The argument that they do not want people just watching tv does not apply. Football on Thanksgiving is an event, not just mindlessly watching American Idol, Survivor, or any other crappy show that we waste way too much time on.
