Bucks Back in Action

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Camp has opened and there is news all over regarding the Bucks.  Well, there are articles about the Bucks if nothing else.
An article from JSonline here about the Fast Break Bucks.  It should be a given that by drafting Brandon Jennings the Bucks will need to be uptempo.  Hopefully, the Bucks can get enough stops and defensive rebounds to get the break started.  If you have a few minutes check out the reader comments, not very positive.  The Bucks really need to at least become interesting this year.
Another article from JSonline is regarding the emphasis on defense.  In the article it [...]

NFL Not Always Better than NBA

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: None Yet

The NFL is the most popular league in this country.  It isn’t even close at this point.  The ratings of the Cowboys-Giants Sunday night game will dwarf the rating for any World Series game, NBA Finals game, or BCS Bowl game outside of the national championship game.  I am as big of a fan as any, but there are areas where the NFL game is not great for the fans.
One game a week
This has always been mentioned as a bonus.  As fans, we can get all hyped up for the big game on Sunday.  But, what if your team lays [...]

Madden Tactics Show Up in Real NFL Week 1

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Football, Madden | COMMENTS: None Yet

There is nothing to discuss on a Bucks front, so I thought I would throw out some unique NFL observations.  When watching the games this week I saw several tactics that are so effective in the Madden video games that you wonder why they cannot work in real NFL.  Some of the effective tactics are meant for video games only and are not realistic, but here are some items I saw this week that came directly from Madden and worked in the real NFL.
Effectiveness of Raiders Defense
Video Game:   The speed within the Raiders secondary has made that defense a [...]

End of the Sessions Saga, Ref Lockout

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: NBA General | COMMENTS: None Yet

We have reached the end of the Sessions summer saga.  Starting in early July, rumors regarding where Sessions will end up were running rampant.  Articles were getting posted all across the Internet based on tweets, conversations or whatnot that made us believe a deal with the Knicks, Clippers, or Thunder was already done and about to be announced.  While I still do not want to see Sessions go, I will be relieved when it is all behind us after today, as today is the deadline for the Bucks to match.
Brewhoop points out some possibilities of the Bucks retaining Sessions.  These [...]

League Notes: Buck n Europe, League Predictions

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

While there is not a ton of exciting news going on for the Bucks as we wait for Sessions to officially bolt in a couple days, here are some Bucks and league tidbits.
European Championships
Frank at BrewHoop has kept tabs on Ersan Ilyasova and Roko Ukic at the 2009 European Championships.
Ersan Ilyasova got off to a good start on the opening day of the 2009 European Championships, scoring 17 pts (6/13 fg, 1/3 threes, 4/4 ft) along with a game-high six boards in 29 minutes to help Turkey score a somewhat surprising 84-76 win over Lithuania
One of his notes that stand out to [...]

Sessions officially signs offer sheet with Timberwolves

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: None Yet

ESPN is reporting that Sessions officially signed an offer sheet with the Wolves.
Since everyone feels the Bucks will not match, it is now time to talk ourselves into believing Sessions sucks, he is no good, he is a stat guy on a bad team, and all of that.

Timberwolves now the Favorite for Sessions?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: None Yet

This is being reported by Gery Woeffel.  Since the Wolves will not be getting Rubio for a couple years at a minimum, in my mind, never, they have now turned their attention to Sessions.
I am not going to go too much into this since I am kind of worn out with the Sessions drama.  I will say this doesn’t make a ton of sense for anyone.  The Wolves did bring in Flynn, who cannot be a two.  So, they will be faced with the same dilemma the Bucks would have had by trying to get the future PG developed and committ to [...]

College Football Picks Week 1
Each week I will give my College and NFL Football picks against the spread.  Since I live in Big10 country, I will pick all of the relevant games from that conference each week, then I will pick all of the Thursday night games and big games over the weekend.

On Thursday games, it is always safe to go with the home team.  NC State, under.

The money line on this game for Boise is -155, when I am betting the favorite and the money line is reasonable, I [...]

Living in a Fantasy Football World

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Fantasy Football | COMMENTS: None Yet

Another thing to keep yourself busy while waiting for the Bucks season to get rolling is a huge phenomenon this time of the year.  Fantasy Football.
Anything Football is a great way to spend your weekends in the fall, whether you watch for fun, gamble in friendly pools, or actually continue to place bets through illegal online betting sites(guilty).  Almost everyone is in on Fantasy Football at this point.  My enjoyment of it has died down as I much prefer actually betting on games, but I will say, I cannot name an activity I enjoy more on an annual basis, than [...]
