Bucks Starting 5?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: 3 Comments |

I stole this from Pippen Ain’t Easy, there it is asked what the Bulls starting 5 should be, I think it is a good question for the Bucks.

Here is the roster as of now.

Milwaukee Bucks: Active Roster
No. Name Pos Exp College Ht Wt Inj
11 Alexander, Joe SF 1 West Virginia 6-8 230
42 Bell, Charlie G-F 5 Michigan State 6-3 200
6 Bogut, Andrew C 4 Utah 7-0 260
30 Delfino, Carlos SG 4 None 6-6 230
9 Elson, Francisco F-C 6 California 7-0 240
50 Gadzuric, Dan F-C 7 UCLA 6-11 245
19 Ilyasova, Ersan F 1 None 6-9 235
3 Jennings, Brandon PG R None 6-1 170
12 Mbah a Moute, Luc Richard F 1 UCLA 6-8 230
20 Meeks, Jodie G R Kentucky 6-4 208
22 Redd, Michael G-F 9 Ohio State 6-6 215
13 Ridnour, Luke PG 6 Oregon 6-2 175
41 Sharpe, Walter F 1 UAB 6-9 245
40 Thomas, Kurt F-C 14 TCU 6-9 240
1 Ukic, Roko G 1 None 6-5 190
21 Warrick, Hakim F 4 Syracuse 6-9 219

Here is what I hope for more than what I expect.

Jennings

Redd

Delfino

Warrick

Bogut

I expect the starting 5 to be Ridnour, Redd, Alexander, Warrick, Bogut.  I do not see the point of starting Alexander if he does not get the majority of the minutes at the 3.  I think players can see through an attempt to boost his confidence by making him a figure-head starter.  If Delfino is getting more minutes, he is the starter.

The only locks in my mind are Bogut and Redd.  I would think the trading of Amir Johnson locks in Warrick at the 4, but you never know.

I am assuming Sessions is gone with the starting 5 I listed above.  I know some will have Ridnour as the starting PG, but I see no point in that.  If the Bucks were concerned about not throwing Jennings to the wolves by starting him, then keep Sessions.  Since it has become obvious there is not a strong intention on the Bucks side to keep him, give the ball to Jennings.

What do you hope the starting 5 will be?

  1. Parker says:

The likelihood of Sessions coming back increases as the days go past….obviously Sessions doesnt want to come back because he would only get 1 million and still be restricted at the end of year again. Does anyone know if the Knicks are even allowed to offer a deal where the salary for 2010 is completely unguaranteed? If they can, I see him signing with the Knicks. If not, it seems Walsh doesn’t want to give up any little bit of cap space for LeBron

See new post. Apparently the Timberwolves are now the favorite.
