Warrick Officially a Buck

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Free Agency | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

It is being reported by several sources that Hakim Warrick has signed a one year deal with the Bucks.
There is also talk of Sessions getting the official offer at anytime now.
Frank at BrewHoop worked out a scenario where a sign and trade could be worked out between the Bucks and Knicks swapping Sessions for Lee, with some other players thrown in to make it work.  It can be done technically, but the Warrick signing makes me highly doubtful it could happen.
Over the weekend I will provide some stats that will display the combination of Amir Johnson and Hakim Warrick are better [...]

Has the NBA One and Done Rule Killed College Basketball?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: NBA General | COMMENTS: None Yet

In 2006 the NBA instituted the rule that forces players to be one year removed from high school before being allowed entry into the NBA draft, the one and done rule.  When speaking strictly from the view of a fan of college basketball the rule has killed the college game.  The one-and-done players have shown college basketball fans how depleted of talent the game has become.  While many are concerned with some un-expected problems the rule has created, I find that the quality of College Basketball took the biggest hit.
The one and done rule was  originally looked at as a good thing [...]

Bucks looking at Hakim Warrick?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Free Agency | COMMENTS: None Yet

Gery Woeflel is reporting from twitterthat the Bucks may be looking at Hakim Warrick.  Chris Mannix of SI, reported something similar from twitter.  This is something I made mention of that I wouldn’t mind seeing the Bucks do when Warrick was first released.
I haven’t been able to find anymore proof as to the Bucks interest, but it is a move I would be happy with.  Since there wasn’t a lot of competition when Warrick was tendered, I wonder how tough it would be for the Bucks to sign him?  I have heard the Nets are a team that is interested, but [...]

A NY Rant And Trade Idea Tuesday – Ridnour Destination?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Trade Idea | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

There is absolutely no truth or rumor to the trade idea I am about to present.  Each Tuesday I will mention a possible Bucks trade, that will almost always:
A)  Help the Bucks more than the other team.
B)  Fit under the cap
C)  Give me an excuse to use the addictively fun Trade Machine on ESPN.
There are some contracts on the Bucks that most will find unmovable, the great thing about the trade machine is it only looks at numbers, it doesn’t remove common sense.
Back to A above for a second.  Have you ever heard the idiots that call in on NY sports [...]

Robinson Signing with Knicks would end Flirtation with Sessions

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks, Free Agency | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The NY Timesis reporting the Knicks are close to signing Nate Robinson to a one year deal for 5-6 million.  This would in turn end the flirtation with Ramon Sessions.
The Knicksand the sparkplug guard Nate Robinson are nearing an agreement on a one-year contract that will pay Robinson $5 million to $6 million, a person close to the negotiations confirmed Sunday.

Guard Nate Robinson may soon sign a one-year deal with the Knicks that will give him and the team flexibility next summer.

The deal would allow the Knicks to add Robinson, a restricted free agent, without dipping into their payroll for [...]

Proof that Jennings will be best PG and Griffin may not be Best PF from Rookie Class

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Rookie Report | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

Anyone who was able to see any of the summer league action or read about it found out about Brandon Jennings.  He is ultra quick, not shy, flashy, a risk taker, and to some people, too cocky.  Thats all fine, what he also is, is a very good point guard, who will be the best PG out of this class.  Some summer league stats help back that up.
I already feel that Jennings has the chance to be the star of the draft.  Most of that conjecture is from his placement in his HS class recruiting rankings.  But it is always nice [...]

Sessions, Andre Miller and Other Updates

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Free Agency | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

In a story that is taking more turns than a Nascar race, it appears the Knicks are back on Sessions.  At this point I just wish something would actually get done.  Gery Woeflel is tweeting
Knicks still leaning toward offer sheet 4 Ramon Sessions. S&T with D. Lee isn’t in cards
The fact the Knicks are back in the Sessions fold mostly can be attributed to Andre Miller getting an an offer from Portland.  From ESPN:
Free-agent point guard Andre Miller has signed with the Portland Trail Blazers, the team announced on Friday.
Miller’s contract is a three-year deal worth $21 million, with [...]

Madden 2010 Demo out, Any Good?

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Madden | COMMENTS: None Yet

Its a Friday, so I will write a non-basketball, non Ramon Sessions, non Bucks article.
I am what my wife calls a vidiot.  I still play video games, well really only Madden at this point, but she razzes me for it.  I love how women can spend 4 hours on a Lifetime network movie and that is not considered a waste of time.  While a guy like me works nearly 50 hours a week, but if I play 1 game of Madden while she is home, I’m a loser.  Women.
I have bought every Madden since the Sega Genesis days, and so I pre-ordered 2010 a couple of [...]

Knicks Pass on Sessions, Clippers now favorite

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: None Yet

It is now being reported that the Knicks are passing on Sessions, the report names the Clippers as the favorite now as it is though the Thunder are only slightly interested.
Here is the Clippers roster, anything you like?  I wouldn’t mind something that involved Craig Smith, but there are restrictions on him.  He cannot be traded with anyone else or until after September 20.  What do you think?

Initial Rookie Report, Sessions Update, Other updates

AUTHOR: Justin Malaise | IN: Bucks | COMMENTS: None Yet

The update on Sessions is, there is no update.  The Knicks still appear to be the major player in the discussion, but likely are still waiting to see what happens with Andre Miller.  It is sounding more like the offer for Sessions could come down to 4 years for slightly less than the MLE, which is right in the zone of where the Bucks will give it a lol of thought.  There is a rumor floating around that Portland is interested in Andre Miller, if that were to happen, Sessions would be back in the main view of the Knicks [...]
